Teaching movement from a somatic perspective is a joy. Witnessing you become more deeply embodied is an honor.

My twenty + years of experience and ongoing work as a psychotherapist, as well as my extensive and varied background in dance, theater, mindfulness, and bodywork, deeply informs my approach to helping others become more embodied and integrated in their movement.
I am a graduate of the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Educator program and a certified yoga instructor with advanced training in Chakra Yoga. I have also studied yoga intensively with Body-Mind Centering℠ founder Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, receiving an additional yoga teacher certification in BMC®Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga.
I am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT) and hold a masters degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a professional member of the Body-Mind Centering® Association (BMCA) as well as the International Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist Association (ISMETA) and the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP).
I am also a consultant to therapists and teach professional development workshops about the integration of somatic work with psychotherapy. In 2015 I was honored to co-present workshops at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health as well as at Omega Institute. I am a chapter co-author with Deb Dana, LCSW, in the recently-published book (June 2018) entitled Clinical Applications of the Polyvagal Theory: The Emergence of Poly-vagal-informed Therapies (Editors Stephen Porges and Deb Dana).

"The experiences in dance and creative movement that Deb offers in her classes sparked a much deeper sense of connection and exploration through my body and physical/spiritual energy...
...Deb's ability to individually support each dancer through this work opened me to a transforming adventure!"
A whole new world of movement, expression and awareness were opened to me through Deb's facilitation...
...Her teaching is marked by enthusiasm, curiosity and a celebration of the possibilities our bodies possess."
